LA PRIMOGENITA: 1941 East African Campaign is a World War II wargame covering the Allied invasion of Italian Eritrea in 1941, with particular focus on the intense fighting around Cheren.
The Allied forces attack with two Indian divisions and Free French support, while the Italian defence relies heavily on colonial brigades recruited in Ethiopia and Eritrea, reinforced by metropolitan formations including elite Alpini and Bersaglieri battalions from the Grenadiers of Savoy Division.
The game uses a dynamic order chit system in which players assign actions such as attack, movement, entrenchment, and ammunition support. Each order has a priority number, so timing matters: the order in which actions resolve can be just as important as the orders chosen. Players must judge their own force, anticipate the opponent’s intentions, and decide when to push, dig in, or prepare for the next phase of the fight.
With one-week turns, a 7.5 mile / 12.5 kilometre hex scale, and battalion-to-brigade units, LA PRIMOGENITA gives players a focused operational treatment of a less commonly gamed WWII campaign.
Contents include: one 22" x 25.5" map, 176 0.6" counters, a 16-page colour rulebook, two 8.5" x 11" colour player aids, and one scenario.
