Monty’s Gamble: Market Garden, 2nd Edition

Monty’s Gamble: Market Garden, 2nd Edition is MMP’s area-movement wargame on Operation Market Garden, the Allied attempt to seize key bridges in the Netherlands and drive XXX Corps up “Hell’s Highway” to Arnhem.

The Allied player must coordinate airborne landings, bridge seizures, and the ground advance of XXX Corps under severe time pressure. The German player must react quickly, break the supply line, delay the advance, and prevent the Allies from linking up before the opportunity closes.

The game uses a semi-simultaneous movement system that keeps both players involved and forces constant prioritisation. Each side has urgent problems across the length of the battlefield, but can only address so much before the variable turn length brings the current turn to an end.

This updated edition also includes Fortress Holland: 1940, originally published in Operations Special Magazine #2. This expansion covers the German invasion of Holland from 10 to 12 May 1940, adding another campaign using the same broad system family.
