Reluctant Friends, Bitter Enemies: The Battle for Sicily 1943

One player commands the Axis, trying to delay the Allied advance and preserve forces for evacuation. The other two players command the Americans and Commonwealth forces, who must defeat the Axis while also competing to be the first to reach Messina. The Allies cannot attack each other directly, but they can still interfere with one another through maneuver, timing, and event play.

Each turn, cards drive movement, attacks, and historical events, creating a campaign where cooperation, rivalry, and opportunity all matter. The result is a Sicily game that focuses not only on the fight against the Axis, but also on the awkward politics and competing ambitions inside the Allied command structure.

Contents include: one map, two countersheets, one full-color rulebook, three player aid charts, three decks of cards, and three dice. The game can be played with three players or as a two-player Allies-versus-Axis game.
