Sovereign of the Seas

Sovereign of the Seas is a strategic naval wargame covering the struggle for control of the world’s oceans between Britain and the European powers from 1756 to 1805.

Players command fleets across a global area map, with individual capital ships, leaders, battle line combat, and sea control all handled through straightforward systems. The English player must destroy enemy fleets and prevent European control of vital sea areas, while the European Powers player must evade, concentrate, and seize temporary command of key waters to support wider imperial and colonial goals.

Inspired in part by classic area-movement naval games, Sovereign of the Seas keeps the rules approachable while still capturing the broad strategic pressures of age-of-sail warfare.

Contents include: two 22” x 34” maps, six countersheets with approximately 600 counters, one rulebook, rules and scenario book, player aid cards, dice, and a box with lid.
