The Battle of Tanga, 1914 covers the British-led attempt to capture the port of Tanga in German East Africa during the opening months of the First World War. One player commands the British and Indian landing force under General Aitken, while the other commands the German colonial defenders under Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck.

Often remembered as the “Battle of the Bees,” Tanga was a confused amphibious operation marked by poor reconnaissance, difficult terrain, improvised German resistance, and a disastrous British retreat. The game recreates the landing, movement inland, jungle fighting, German counterattacks, formation cohesion, ammunition supply, and even the infamous bee attacks that helped give the battle its nickname.

Contents include: one 22" x 34" map, 360 3/4" counters, rules booklet, five player aid cards, historical article, and two dice.
