The Seven Days Battles 1862 is Volume III in Worthington Publishing’s Civil War Brigade Battle Series. This old-school hex-and-counter wargame lets players refight key battles from the 1862 Seven Days Battles outside Richmond, Virginia, with one player commanding the Confederates and the other commanding the Union.
The game includes eight scenarios across four battles: Beaver Dam Creek, Gaines’ Mill, Glendale, and Malvern Hill. Six single-day scenarios can be played in 2 to 4 hours, while two longer linked scenarios combine Beaver Dam Creek with Gaines’ Mill, or Glendale with Malvern Hill, for a 6 to 8 hour two-day battle experience.
Victory is based on destroying the enemy army and capturing key terrain objectives. Special rules also model Stonewall Jackson’s lethargy during the campaign, giving the Confederate player historical friction to manage rather than a simple full-strength hammer blow.
