Traces of War

Traces of War is a World War II operational wargame from VUCA Simulations covering the fighting between Axis and Soviet forces after the Battle of Kursk, from August 1943 to March 1944. A major Soviet offensive is launched against a mobile German defence, creating a tense campaign of breakthroughs, withdrawals, counterattacks, and operational pressure.

The game is designed for one or two players, with high solitaire suitability and a medium-low complexity level. With division- to corps-scale units, monthly turns, and a hex scale of 12.5 miles / 20 kilometres, Traces of War focuses on the larger operational picture rather than tactical detail.

This is a standalone historical wargame and a strong companion title for players interested in VUCA’s Traces series, especially alongside Traces of Hubris and Traces of Victory.

Format: Boxed operational wargame.

Contents include: a two-piece box, two map sheets with a combined size of 1042 x 712mm, three counter sheets with 320 counters, two A4 player aid sets with two sheets each, one track card, a 16-page A4 rulebook, and one six-sided die.
