War in the Wind: The Battle of Attu Island, 1943 is a tactical World War II wargame covering the American assault to retake Attu Island in the Aleutians.

Players command U.S. and Japanese forces in a battle shaped as much by the environment as by enemy action. The Americans have numbers and firepower, but must struggle through harsh weather, difficult terrain, and serious logistical problems. The Japanese player must use those same conditions to delay, disrupt, and survive against overwhelming pressure.

The game includes a full campaign covering the entire battle, along with three shorter scenarios focused on separate phases of the fighting. With platoon-to-company scale units, daily turns, and medium complexity, War in the Wind offers a focused treatment of one of the Pacific War’s harshest and least forgiving battlefields.

Contents include: one 22” x 34” full-color mapsheet, two double-sided countersheets with 324 9/16” counters, one 20-page rules booklet, two double-sided player aid cards, and three 10-sided dice.
