Washington’s War is a fast-playing card-driven strategy game covering the American Revolution, based on Mark Herman’s classic We the People.

One player commands the British, using conventional military strength and naval mobility to control key coastal areas and suppress the rebellion. The other leads the Americans, relying on George Washington, militia, political influence, and the hope of French intervention to keep the cause alive.

This redesign keeps the strategic tension of the original while streamlining play into a much shorter format. Combat resolves quickly, the card system gives players meaningful choices even with awkward hands, and the two sides feel sharply different without becoming difficult to learn.

With a playing time of around 90 minutes, Washington’s War is a strong choice for players who want a historical card-driven wargame that is tense, replayable, and practical to play in a single evening.
