To Take Washington: Jubal Early’s Summer 1864 Campaign is a standalone American Civil War wargame from Multi-Man Publishing in the Line of Battle series.
Product Type: Standalone American Civil War tactical / grand-tactical wargame in the Line of Battle series.
The game covers Jubal Early’s 1864 campaign from the Shenandoah Valley toward Washington, D.C. Players first fight the Battle of Monocacy, where Confederate performance affects when Early’s forces arrive on the separate Fort Stevens map.
That timing is crucial. A stronger Confederate result at Monocacy may bring Early to Washington while the Union defenses are still thinly held; a slower or bloodier advance leaves the Confederate player facing a much harder problem outside Fort Stevens.
To Take Washington includes two connected battle areas: Monocacy, shown across two map sheets, and Fort Stevens, shown on one map sheet with part of Washington itself. The game includes twelve scenarios, including a full two-battle campaign game, with most scenarios playable on a single map.
Contents include: Line of Battle v2.0 rulebook, two Line of Battle v2.0 Charts and Tables booklets, To Take Washington game-specific rulebook, three 22×34 inch maps, 840 counters, two full-colour play aid cards, box, and dice.
