1989: Dawn of Freedom is a fast-paced card-driven game about the collapse of Communist power in Eastern Europe. One player controls the Communist governments, while the other represents the democratic opposition movements trying to turn dissent, crisis, and popular pressure into lasting revolution.

Using a system inspired by Twilight Struggle, the game combines political influence, historical events, and decisive Power Struggles across the countries of the Warsaw Pact. This second printing corrects known errata while preserving the original design.

Contents include: two countersheets, mounted 22" x 34" map, 110 Strategy cards, 52 Power cards, rules booklet, two player aid cards, and two six-sided dice.
