Arsuf: Lionheart vs. Saladin

Arsuf: Lionheart vs. Saladin is a two-player medieval folio wargame from Decision Games covering the Battle of Arsuf on 7 September 1191. Richard the Lionheart leads the Crusader army south along the coast during the Third Crusade, while Saladin attempts to disrupt and break the marching column before it can continue toward Jaffa and Jerusalem.

Using the Battles of the Medieval World system, Arsuf presents a clash between disciplined Crusader men-at-arms and heavy cavalry on one side, and mobile Arab foot and horse archers on the other. Leaders can strengthen combat and help restore broken formations, while morale, pursuit, and timing are central to victory.

The Crusader player must hold formation and use heavy troops at the right moment. The Arab player must harass, disrupt, and exploit weakness before the Crusader line can turn its strength into a decisive counterattack.
