ASL The Green Hell of Inor is an ASL-compatible historical module from Le Franc Tireur, covering the fighting around the village of Inor during the 1940 French Campaign.
Designed by Lionel Colin and Xavier Vitry, the module focuses on the battles between French and German forces near Inor, close to the Meuse and the Belgian border. It highlights a hard-fought sector of the campaign where French units resisted German pressure after the breakthrough in the Ardennes.
The module includes dedicated counters for French forces not fully represented in the core ASL modules, including Senegalese Tirailleurs, Algerian Tirailleurs, Colonial troops, Corps-Franc units, Foreign Legion troops, and historically camouflaged French AFVs. The German side uses standard ASL counters, with additional early-war German machine-gun counters provided.
Alongside the historical maps, scenarios, and campaign games, the package includes a rules booklet and a substantial historical booklet with period material, “then and now” images, battlefield-tour content, designer notes, and background on the battle of Inor and the wider 1940 campaign.
Requires: the Advanced Squad Leader core game system. This is not a standalone product.
Contents include: two 24" x 33" historical map sections, 16 scenarios, 3 campaign games, 2 die-cut countersheets, a 36-page rulebook, 24 pages of charts, tables and campaign-game material, and an 80-page historical background booklet.
