Blocks in Afrika is a two-player World War II block wargame from VentoNuovo Games, covering the North African campaign from 1940 to 1943.
One player controls the Axis powers, while the other commands the Western Allies. The campaign begins with the Italian offensive toward Egypt and follows the struggle across the desert through Operation Compass, Rommel’s arrival, the battles for Libya and Egypt, El Alamein, and the final Axis collapse in North Africa.
As a block game, Blocks in Afrika uses hidden information and step reduction to create fog of war and uncertainty. The game includes basic, advanced, and optional rules, allowing players to build up the system gradually. Advanced and optional rules add more detail for fuel, production, strategic warfare, U-boat operations, rear-area activity, and other campaign elements.
The game also includes a dedicated naval module for major Mediterranean battles between the Royal Navy and Regia Marina, making it more than a land campaign game. It can be played on its own or combined with other VentoNuovo Blocks titles for a broader World War II experience.
Format: Boxed block wargame.
Contents include: a mounted map, wooden blocks and cubes, stickers, rules manual, scenarios, and naval module material.
