Bonaparte Overruns Piedmont

Bonaparte Overruns Piedmont is an Operational Studies Group wargame on Bonaparte’s first offensive in Italy in April 1796.

Freshly appointed to command the Army of Italy, Bonaparte moved from Nice into the mountains and struck at the divided Coalition forces. The game covers the opening phase of the campaign against Piedmont and Austria, including Montenotte, Dego, San Michele, Ceva, and Mondovi, with the option to link the battles into a campaign game.

As part of OSG’s The Library of Napoleonic Battles system, Bonaparte Overruns Piedmont emphasizes historically researched maps, operational maneuver, command decisions, and the tempo of Napoleonic campaigning. It is a strong fit for players interested in the 1796 Italian campaign and in seeing Bonaparte before the later imperial campaigns that made his reputation legendary.

Requires / note: this game uses the two TLNB Universal Card Decks — French and Coalition. These decks are not included; if you do not already own them from Napoleon’s Wheel or another compatible OSG title, they can be ordered separately.

Contents include: game box, two 34" x 22" maps, one 17" x 22" map, one countersheet with 280 die-cut pieces, two booklets covering the system rules and study folder, 16 player aid cards, and 5 resource cards.
