Corsair Leader

Corsair Leader is a solitaire tactical air game in the DVG Leader series, built from the Hornet Leader II system and adapted for Marine air operations in the Pacific.

The game focuses on F4U Corsairs during the Solomon Islands campaign, with two campaigns covering the fighting from late 1942 into early 1944. Players select aircraft, plan missions, assign pilots, and decide how to approach each target while managing risk across the wider campaign.

Although Corsairs are the heart of the game, you can also include aircraft such as Dauntlesses, B-25s, and B-17s, each with its own strengths and limitations. Choosing the right aircraft for the job matters: heavy bombers may carry serious payloads, but that does not mean they are the answer to every target.

Corsair Leader also adds more tactical detail over the target, including offensive and defensive posture choices for aircraft. That gives each mission a sharper feel, with players constantly balancing stronger attacks against increased vulnerability.

This is a strong choice for solo players who enjoy WWII air combat, campaign planning, and tactical risk management with a Pacific theater focus.
