Crossing the Line: Aachen 1944 – 2nd Edition is an operational-level World War II wargame covering the Battle for Aachen, fought from 12 September to 21 October 1944. One player commands the U.S. forces pushing toward and through the Westwall, while the other controls the German defenders attempting to delay, disrupt, and hold the approaches to Aachen.
The game is designed for two players, while also supporting solitaire and team play. Its semi-interactive activation system gives both sides meaningful decisions during the turn, with the active player activating one division at a time and the inactive player sometimes able to react to threats and interrupt enemy operations.
This 2nd Edition/reprint includes a mounted mapboard, making it the better choice for customers who want the updated physical edition rather than the older first-edition listing.
Format: Boxed operational wargame.
Contents include: one rulebook, one mounted mapboard, more than 300 extra-large counters including 160 combat units, four player aid charts, full-colour setup charts, full-colour reinforcements and withdrawals charts, and two ten-sided dice.
