El Alamein: Rommel at Alam el Halfa is a two-player World War II folio wargame from Decision Games covering the Battle of Alam el Halfa in August–September 1942. Rommel’s Afrika Korps attempts to outflank the British Eighth Army near El Alamein, but Montgomery’s forces are waiting along the Alam el Halfa ridge.

Using the Fire & Movement system, El Alamein emphasizes mechanized maneuver, support fire, and careful asset management. Motorized and specially trained units gain important battlefield advantages, while support from mortars, artillery, aircraft, and heavy bombers can change the outcome of a combat at the critical moment.

The battle pits Axis tactical skill against British numbers, firepower, and forewarning from intelligence. The Axis player must create a breakthrough before the attack stalls, while the British player must use reserves and defensive fire to blunt the offensive.
