Leningrad '41 Kickstarter Edition

Leningrad ’41: Kickstarter Edition is a VentoNuovo block wargame on Army Group North’s drive toward Leningrad during Operation Barbarossa.

The German player begins after the early breakthroughs in the Baltic, with Riga taken and bridgeheads over the Daugava River. The goal is to push north, seize the Baltic approaches, and capture or isolate Leningrad before Soviet resistance, terrain, weather, and logistics bring the offensive to a halt. The Soviet player must delay, reinforce, and use the city’s strategic value, industrial importance, and Baltic Fleet base to hold the northern front together.

The campaign also brings in Finland, whose army sought to recover territory lost in the Winter War but did not share every German objective. That makes the northern campaign more than a simple German-Soviet race: political limits, geography, and coordination all shape the fight.

Using colorful wooden blocks, PVC stickers, headquarters, markers, and player aids, Leningrad ’41 combines fog of war with impulse-driven operational choices. It is designed for two players, with possible multi-player combinations and good solitaire suitability.
