NNN3: Nippon, Nukes and Nationalists

NNN3: Nippon, Nukes and Nationalists is an alternate-history modern wargame set in East Asia during a fictional Third World War.

Set in a grim counterfactual timeline where the Third Reich survived the Second World War in truncated form, the game shifts the wider conflict to the East Asian theatre. Japan, China, NATO, and the game’s alternate Warsaw Pact power structure collide in a high-risk operational campaign where early-war uncertainty, disruption, and strategic planning are central to play.

Each turn represents one week, with large-scale hexes and a theatre-command focus. Players must plan beyond immediate opportunities, manage fragile formations, and adapt as a supposedly prepared military system begins to break under the pressure of all-out war. The game is designed for two players, with solitaire play possible by adjustment.
