Ostkrieg: WWII Eastern Front

Using a card-driven combat and build system inspired by Pacific Tide, the game gives each side its own deck and forces difficult choices every year. New cards enter play for free, but older cards must be bought back with limited build points, making preparation as important as battlefield execution.

Players command army-level infantry, armor, air groups, and partisans across an area map. Cards often offer multiple possible uses, so each play becomes a decision between immediate operational needs and longer-term strategy. Axis minor restrictions, air and ground commitment, and shifting priorities add further tension without making the game overly complex.

Ostkrieg is designed for competitive two-player play, but also includes a solitaire bot system with different personalities, allowing the non-player side to behave aggressively, defensively, or in a more balanced way. That gives the game strong replay value for solo players as well as face-to-face opponents.

Contents include: one 17” x 22” map, one 9/16” countersheet, 53 game cards, rules booklet, two player aid cards, sixteen six-sided dice, and a box with lid.
