Prelude to Revolution: Russia’s Descent into Anarchy, 1905–1917 is a two-player card-driven strategy game about the political and social crisis that led to the Russian Revolution.

Players take the roles of the Revolutionary and Government factions, competing for influence across the capital, the Duma, workers, soldiers, and the wider population. Cards can be used for events or action points, while each faction must also manage internal tensions between moderates and extremists.

Based on the system from Prelude to Rebellion, the game covers three eras: the Years of Turmoil, the Great War, and the Collapse. World events, key personalities, Bolshevik momentum, Tsarist prestige, and political radicalization all shape the path toward 1917.

This is a political conflict game rather than a battlefield wargame, ideal for players who enjoy card-driven systems, ideological struggle, and tense pre-revolutionary history.
