The included game, First Punic War, 264–241 BC, is a two-player wargame on the 24-year struggle between Rome and Carthage in the western Mediterranean. One player commands the Romans, while the other commands the Carthaginians.
The war is centered on Sicily, but the game also allows operations in Sardinia, North Africa, and other parts of the region. Players use Action Points to recruit forces and conduct military operations, balancing land campaigns, naval movement, leadership, logistics, and control of key strategic points.
Each game turn represents three years, each hex represents 40 miles, Roman combat units represent legions with attached cavalry or auxiliary groupings, Carthaginian units represent mixed troop groupings, and naval units represent about 50 warships each.
Contents include: one 22×34 inch map and 176 5/8 inch counters.
