Into the Woods: The Battle of Shiloh is a regimental-level American Civil War wargame in GMT’s Great Battles of the American Civil War series.

The game covers the Battle of Shiloh through ten scenarios, ranging from smaller division-level actions to larger two-map battles covering both days of the fighting. The system uses interactive chit-pull mechanics to capture the uncertainty and disorder of 19th-century battlefield command.

This volume highlights the Confederate surprise attack, the inexperience of many units on both sides, and the important role of Albert Sidney Johnston in the opening Confederate assault. It is best suited for players who enjoy detailed Civil War tactics, command friction, and historically specific battlefield situations.
