Wing Leader: Legends 1937–1945

Wing Leader: Legends 1937–1945 is an expansion for GMT Games’ Wing Leader air combat system. It brings together earlier Wing Leader games and expansions through crossover scenarios covering air battles from the opening years of the Second World War to its final stages. GMT describes it as the fourth expansion for the system.

This expansion highlights smaller and less commonly represented air forces, including Chinese aircraft over Nanking, Yugoslavs over Belgrade, Bulgarian defenders over Sofia, and Italian aircraft in the final stages of the Regia Aeronautica’s war over Sicily and Calabria. It also adds new scenarios for China and France, plus familiar theatres such as the Pacific and Eastern Front, including the Battle of the Bismarck Sea.

New aircraft include unusual types such as the Yugoslav IK-3 interceptor, the American P-26 Peashooter, and Italian aircraft including the G.55 fighter and Z.1007 bomber. Legends also includes a campaign system for the desperate air battles over Kursk in the summer of 1943.
