Blackhorse

Blackhorse is a grand tactical Cold War wargame set in the Fulda Gap during a hypothetical hot war in the summer of 1989.

The Iron Curtain has not come down, tensions remain high, and war has returned to Europe. One player commands the Soviet 79th Guards Tank Division, while the other commands U.S. forces drawn from the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 3rd Armored Division.

Units represent companies and platoons, with 1000-meter hexes and three-hour turns. The system emphasizes friction, command and control, and the challenges of coordinating mechanized forces under pressure. Blackhorse can be played by two players or solitaire with one player controlling both sides.

Contents include: 17” x 22” Fulda Gap map, 3 counter sheets, 4 player aid cards, one D10, and box.
