Bleeding Kansas is a two-player political conflict board game from Decision Games covering the struggle over pre-statehood Kansas from the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 to statehood in 1861. One side represents pro-slavery forces, while the other represents abolitionist forces competing to influence settlers, control counties, shape politics, and decide the future of Kansas.
The game is driven by cards representing important events, people, and pressures from the period. Players use card play to build forces, move supporters, disrupt or attack opponents, burn or rebuild towns, encourage migration, and seek Federal intervention. The result is a tactical political contest where the order of events creates a different story of the conflict each game.
Contents include: 101 assorted cubes, 55 cards, 100 markers, mounted game board, two six-sided dice, rules booklet, and campaign analysis.
