Pacific Tide, 2nd Edition

Pacific Tide, 2nd Edition is a compact strategic World War II wargame covering the Pacific War between the United States and Japan.

Using a fast card-driven combat and build system, players manage carriers, land-based air, ground forces, intelligence, supply, amphibious attacks, and key territorial objectives. Each year brings new cards, but older cards must be bought back with limited build points, forcing both sides to make painful decisions about what they can afford to keep in their plans.

Japan begins with early strength but faces declining pilot quality and loss of initiative as the war progresses. The United States grows stronger over time, but cannot simply wait forever—victory must be achieved before the clock runs out. That pressure gives the game a sharp strategic tempo despite its compact size.

Pacific Tide is highly playable as a two-player contest, and the included solitaire bot system gives solo players aggressive, defensive, and balanced opponent personalities for added replay value.

Contents include: one 17” x 22” map, one 9/16” countersheet, 51 game cards, rules booklet, two player aid cards, sixteen six-sided dice, and a box with lid.
