Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition is a faster, card-focused game set in the Terraforming Mars universe.

Players control interplanetary corporations working to make Mars habitable and profitable. You invest mega credits into project cards, build an engine, raise your production, and contribute to the terraforming of Mars by increasing oxygen, raising temperature, and placing ocean tiles.

Each round uses simultaneous phase selection. Players secretly choose phases such as development, construction, action, production, or research, then all selected phases are resolved by everyone. This keeps the game moving quickly while still rewarding careful timing, engine building, and long-term planning.

Ares Expedition keeps the core feel of Terraforming Mars, with corporations, project cards, terraforming goals, and victory points, but presents it in a more streamlined and card-driven format. It is a standalone game and does not require Terraforming Mars to play.
