The MOG: Mogadishu 1993

The MOG: Mogadishu 1993 is a solitaire tactical wargame from White Dog Games covering the Battle of Mogadishu on 3 October 1993. The player commands the UN/US forces during the raid near the Olympic Hotel, attempting to capture key members of Mohamed Farrah Aidid’s Somali National Alliance and then withdraw safely to a UN base.

The situation quickly becomes more dangerous as Aidid’s forces react to the raid and move to attack. Solitaire rules control the opposing forces, creating a tense game of movement, extraction, fire, and survival as the player tries to get troops, captives, and vehicles out of the city before the situation overwhelms them.

The game includes six historical missions, along with a random setup generator for creating new scenarios. It is a good fit for solo players interested in modern tactical combat, the Battle of Mogadishu, and tense “get in, complete the mission, get out” gameplay.
