We Shall Fight on the Marne: First Marne, 1914 is an operational-level World War I wargame from White Dog Games covering the First Battle of the Marne. The game is designed for two players and also includes solitaire rules.

After invading Belgium and northeastern France, the German army came within 30 miles of Paris. With victory seemingly close, the German First Army was ordered to encircle Paris from the east, setting the stage for one of the most important turning points of the opening campaign of the First World War.

The game includes rules for bombardment, air observation, pontoon bridges, weather, corps breakdown, cavalry reaction and scouting, forced marches, command points, and breakthrough movement. It is a compact operational treatment of a crucial 1914 battle, suitable for players interested in World War I manoeuvre warfare before the Western Front fully hardened into trench lines.

Format: Historical operational wargame.

Contents include: one 17″ x 11″ game board, 88 5/8″ mounted die-cut counters and markers, an 8-page colour rulebook, and one player reference sheet.
