Zhukov’s War covers the decisive middle phase of the Eastern Front in World War II, from July 1942 to July 1943. Players command German and Soviet forces across the vast front from Leningrad to the Sea of Azov, balancing offensive plans, reserves, sudden enemy action, and the struggle to seize or hold the strategic initiative.

The game is played at division / army level, with 20 miles per hex and monthly or winter two-month turns. Its activation system allows for different operational sequences, giving both sides difficult choices over movement, combat, timing, and exploitation.
